okay but my favorite bb kitten thing that I’ve only noticed now that I have both TV and more than one kitten ever, is introducing them to TV for the first time. Timmy freaked out the first time I turned on revenge, but both Watson and Winston were completely glued to the screen during the Hannibal credit music. Winona is so far unwilling to sit still enough to watch TV with me, but we’ll try again tonight and see if she likes True Blood.

Whenever I try to explain the animal fostering program at the Humane Society to people I feel like I’m an Amway saleswoman or something. I know how it insane the concept sounds. I know how insane it sounded when Natalie Shortbread and Cara each separately explained it to me. It sounds like a trap, like a kitten related pyramid scheme. But it is not.

You go to your local humane society and you take a 2 hour workshop and then you wait for an email presenting you with a menu of possible loaner kittens. Then you call dibs on what ever kitten batch you want, drive to the shelter and pick up your basket of kittens for 2-4 weeks.

One time I went with a group of friends to poke around in an abandoned slaughterhouse near Eastern Market. There was no overlap between this group of friends and the other group who had spraypainted “Go Vegan!” across the outside of the same poorly secured slaughterhouse, but I just want to mention that that happened and let you ponder that image for while.

Anyway, we just were able to walk on in to the big open area and then up some stairs into the office/storage areas. And it was creepy as fuck and I have seen some damn horror movies in my life so I was, eventually, like, “okay. i’m done. I’m going to wait in the car.” Then Jessika Rae and I did indeed leave the dark, spooky abandoned slaughterhouse and wait in the car. And I suppose I could see this story as embarrassing and it was a little at the time, but instead I am pleased with myself because I have confidence that if I am ever tempted to seek out the Grave of Doctor Satan or poke around in the creepy basement of someone’s rural cabin/shack or get a good deal on a Murder House, I know that I have the presence of mind to wait in the car instead.

I think one of my dad’s fight club friends has a ~charity~ that may or may not be just her and her house where she’ll take your pets if you have to go to rehab or jail. So, hopefully some nice fictional 12-stepper will take Will’s dogs for him. Or they can all go live at Quantico and Beverly and Alana can feed them. Or Hannibal can take them and feed them human sausage, which is probably the solution the dogs are rooting for, because lbr, dogs would totally eat human flesh if we let them.
