It galls me that anyone, in this day and age, thinks there’s something wrong with girls being priests or acolytes, honestly. I have never seen any justification for the policy that seemed particularly compelling. But it also amuses me terribly how easy it is to gall them right back by just talking about how normal it is elsewhere in Christendom.
On nearly all religious issues, I feel like it’s essential to respect the other person’s religious beliefs, to engage in religious debate lovingly and with a willingness to change your mind.
But, honestly, women’s ordination is the one issue about which I just don’t give a fuck. I feel no great desire to be anything but a big immature twerp about it because there is no good reason to oppose the full ordination of women; the only reason to oppose it if you believe that women are less than fully human.
And that just make me want to bust out sexxi tudors gifs and point out that at church today the Body and Blood of Christ didn’t touch a single male hand from the moment it was lifted on the altar to the moment it went in my mouth.
