OMG

Why do a lot of people say “oh my gosh” even when like, an actual cry out to God would be appropriate? like

person 1: [huge catastrophe happened]

person 2: oh my gosh.

for me, it’s that I was raised Mormon and was taught to not say “oh my god” ever, at all, under any circumstances, because that was construed as taking the Lord’s name in vain.

remember when Jessica Simpson had her TV show and she would say, “oh my gah” in order to avoid taking the Lord’s name in vain?
