big ol’ lesbian subtext fyi
shit for real?
‘63’s The Haunting was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid and I finally got the book (a gift from my father’s bestie, whom I consult for everything sci-fi, speculative, horror, and macabre literature) but haven’t made time to read it yet
I prefer We Have Always Lived in the Castle, but I love them both. I can’t decide which is actually gayer (though WHALIC is “gay” in a creepy incestuous way) But Merricat is def. the originally misandrist cat lady.
OH LOOK PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT TWO OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS
I’LL JUST
INSERT MYSELF AWKWARDLY INTO THE CONVERSATION
HEY

I’M THINKING OF SHIRLEY JACKSON AND TOUCHING MYSELF

well I guess I know what my new breaktime reading book is
I bet that coldbitterness will chime into this lovefest at some point because I know she loves Shirley Jackson, cats, and amanita phalloides.
