lau-fi: The Rebel Girl: An Autobiography, My First Life (1906-1926), by Elizabeth Gurley Flynn (pub. 1955) At some point in this book,  Gurley is traveling by train with a very militant wobbly organizer.  Making small talk,  she mentions that the countryside is lovely.   He responds,  ”I can’t enjoy the scenery under a capitalist system, ma’am.” I urge you all to bring this phrase into your life, especially if you interact with left wing dudes ever.   It will come up so often.
